2010 Bailey Memorial
This weeks race is one of the most prestigous races in the clubs long history. It is in fact the clubs longest running race of 77 years and it is 1 year older than the hundred mile. The race is also named after a gentleman who in his day was one of the best and managed to come runner up in one of the early Melbourne to Warrnambools. I hope I got those facts right.....anyway, certainly a prestigous race and one worth having a crack at.
This means this year is the 78th running of the event. As well as the past champions that have won this race, a number of other current champions have had placings in recent years.....Spek and Darren Earl to name a couple. The current champion is David Jones.
There will be prize money and a perpetual trophy to be had so make and effort to get out this week and help make this long standing race a huge success. If you are not riding then we could always do with a couple of corner marshalls.
